Filming of our Music Video

Filming of our music video

On Friday 12th of October, we were ready to begin the filming of our music video. We booked out all of the equipment we required and ensured we had everything we may need for the filming of the video. We booked out a camera, tripod, light refletor and torches.

The plan was to begin filming the performance as soon as we possibly could to ensure that we were not having to carry equipment in limited light. Adam W and Jake arrived at Ely trainstation at around half past three and were picked up to come to Wicken for the filming. Yasz arrived in Wicken at around the time of 4pm. By this time we had already spoken to the farmer who owned the field in which we wanted to film as there was a small wooded area in the forest which was ideal for our filming. Now we just had the task of getting the equipment into the forest. Dan (Adam S brother), who was doing the drumming for us, provided us with a car to be able to get the drum kit and other equipment down to the edge of the field but then it just required us to carry all of the equipment into the forest.

Once we had gotten all the equipment into the forest we had the task of setting up the drum kit in the ideal location and having the camera in the right, effective angles. As soon as we achieved this, we then began filming our master shot which is a long shot of the band performing in the woods. This would then allow us to be able to have this shot to go back to and cut between in the video. After gaining this master shot we started to take individual shots of all of the band members to provide enough coverage.

After filming all the shots we needed for the perfomance side of the video, we decided this was an ideal chance to take images for our digipack. We took a few photos of the band all together in a variety of different places to allow us to be able to choose between images for the ones we use for the digipack.

We now had to take all of the equipment back home across the field. This was a long and hard process but thankfully we had the car which we used to transport the equipment back from the field.Once home, this was an ideal chance for us to be able to produce the slender notes, have a 'tea break' and get the custome ready for filming the slenderman side to our video. Yasz had to go home at 6pm as she had work that evening. We produced enough slender notes to cover the eight that are in the game, and we managed to create an effective costume out of a white t-shirt, Soham Village College blazer, white polo shirt, black tie, smart trousers and smart shoes. We then took a break for food to ensure we didnt go hungry whilst out filming.

We left the house at around half past eight to begin filming the slender footage. We didnt have a plan as such for this part of the film because we were unsure of what areas we could use for the filming of this. We began by walking around Wicken finding suitable locations and began to film. We eventually decided on filming by the local pond, the play park, an old telephone box, the village hall, the graveyard and a few odd places down small lanes and in the forest where we filmed the initial performance shots. We required help from Dan again for the filming in the graveyard because we anted to use some lighting within this footage.

We finished filming all of our footage at around half past ten/eleven o'clock that evening and headed back to the house. Once back, we decided to look over the footage and felt that we had enough coverage for our music video.
