our reshoot
we decided as a group that we needed more footage of the band and different shot types because the shots we had were all basically the same, the shoot went really well we managed to get some more of the lead singer, bassist and guitarist. we came across some problems such as we couldnt get the drummer to come and film more takes because he had work, another problem we faced was that we only had time to film during a lesson and didnt have enough time to get over to wicken fen again, so we used the forest at the back of the college to film some more shots. to gain more shot types we used a wheel chair to get a tracking shot, it didnt work so well so we used it to get higher shots by carefully standing on the wheelchair with the brakes firmly on holding on to each other, i managed to get a shot of jake when he turns around to go at the beginning of the video and swoops in on his face, we then decided with this clip that we can reverse it to go at the end of the music video. as a group we had decided before the reshoot that we wanted to get more shots with movement because many of our shots are standing still in the forest or of the notes so there werent much movement. especally as the song sped up towards the end the clips were still the same speed. we got more clips or the guitarist and bassists interactions so that not all clips in the music video are of them singley or of them as a whole band

goodwin analysis
There is a relationship between the lyrics and visuals, with the visualS illustrating, amplifying or contradicting the lyrics.
this song is about a guy being perfect and its all because of the way he was brought up or in his "DNA" the song is very cool, spooky "electroballad" with huge vocals from the girls. the video fits well with the sing because its got violent camera movement and near the end when one of the girls is singing very angerily there is really fast editing/flashes of footage to show the anger in her voice.

review of our song
i decided to ask many people round the college with different age and genres of music what they thought of our songs, the main sort of questions that were asked were:
did you like the track?
what type of person would like this track?
which age range would you typically associate with this song?
how would you picture the lead singer?
what sort of music video would you expect to accompany this track?
if performance, where what type?
if narrative, what sort?
thee first person was not sure about the song, but she did picture the lead singer as what he would wear.
the second person shows that she believes that even people up to 55 would really like this song which shows that different people like songs of all genre.
the third person really liked the song but wasnt sure what sort of person would like the song.
i also asked another person who requested not to be filmed

i would think roughly late teenagers would like this sort of music but anyone could really but i would assossicate it with teenagers.

not sure really, like hair on top his head is all wild, black skinny jeans, stubble, checked shirt or sort of shirts with prints on but dark shirts

i would think it would be both a performance and a narrative based, with them performing in front of a crowd and them telling a story about their break up or a dilemma that occured

Costume
Performers:
•The performers will have to dress in a hipster fashion. E.g. White vests, checkered shirts, black skinny jeans, beanies and either converse or vans.
Slender Man:
•The performers will have to dress in a hipster fashion. E.g. White vests, checkered shirts, black skinny jeans, beanies and either converse or vans.
Slender Man:
•Slender man will be
dressed according to how he is portrayed in the game “slender; the eight pages”
so he will have black trousers, white shirt, red tie and black jacket. We will
use a white t-shirt to cover his face.
Performers
We have decided that we will be using members from the group to be performers in the video. Adam Stronge, Adam Woods and Jake Hardwick will be in the video representing the band. We have also managed to find an outside performer who can play the drums for the video. This performer is Adam Stronges brother.
Jake will be the lead singer of the group and will be required to learn the lyrics. Adam Woods will be playing guitar for the performance. He will be playing electric and acoustic guitar. Adam Stronge will be playing bass guitar for the performance.

Influences
“The Marble Hornets” series on Youtube and the popular
internet indie game “Slender”. The game slender influenced us because this was the main idea for our sub plot. the influence was that we would use the idea of the game slender and incorporate this into the video.
This is a video by Sum 41. This video gave us influence for structuring our
performance and sub plot. This is because this video uses a sub story separate to the performance by the band.
The video "Decode" by Paramore also influenced us because this video uses a forest for the performance and the sub plot which t=is the kind of idea that we are looking to create.
Our basic idea
Our basic idea is to make a performance video with a sub plot involving the urban myth “The Slender Man”.
We chose this idea because we thought that it would make effective intertextuality between the video and the internet game "Slender".

our story board
The first thing I did was create Storyboards. i used an an A3 sheet of paper and drew 6 boxes on it, i then drew what i thought my music video would be like in each box. And here is a video I put together to to show my pictures from the Storyboard with the soundtrack at the same time. this will really help with our shooting schedule later

music choice
The song we have chosen as a group is 'The Dilemma' by You Me At Six
We chose this song for many reason, firstly as a group we liked the particular genre of music that You Me At Six are part of. Another reason is because we wanted to do something different compared to the songs that other groups had chosen, most of them had chosen something that is like drum and bass or girls singing sad songs, whereas by chosing this song and genre it gives us a lot of options to have our music video which is very orginal. We also liked the idea that we could use instruments within this song as it was clear that there were instruments envolved.

Lip-Synching
first of all we were given ex students music videos and we had to recreate a music video using their clips and music to match up the lipsyncing to the correct moments.
Firstly we placed the track on the timeine about 10 seconds in and lock it so it can be changed or moved.
We then found the very start of the first line of singing on footage in the and placed a mark (m) and then did the same with the audio in the timeline.
The footage was then put onto the timeline making sure that both the marks matched up. if we could see that it was a little out of sync then the footage could be moved left or right byusing the < and > keys.
The rest of the footage was lip-synched in the same way and place on different lines allowing us to interchanged between the footage creating a fast paced edit between already synched footage.
